Calculate Dry Materials in Mortar
After concrete most used materials are cement and sand mixture is known as mortar and before ordering the required materials it is necessary you to know how much materials you need before you order or before filling tender or getting any contract etc.Let's assume following example-
- Calculate the required for 45 cubic meter brick masonry work in the ration of 1:6 cement and sand.
Quantity of cement for 1 cubic meter bricks = 0.30
Ratio 1:6 = 7 (sum)
Cement = 0.30/7 = 0.045 cubic meter
Sand = 0.045 x 6 = 0.27 cubic meter
and quantity for 45 cubic meter
Cement = 0.045 x 45 = 2.05 cubic meter
Sand = 0.27 x 45 = 12.15 cubic meter
- Now, let's quantity for plastering after brick masonry further step will be plastering and now we are going to calculate required quantity for plastering -
Usually the thickness of plaster = 12 mm
Assume the ratio = 1:4
Cement = 2.00 / 5 = 0.40 cubic meter
Sand = 0.40 x 4 = 1.60 cubic meter
