Calculate Dry Materials in Concrete

Concrete dry materials calculation is very essential for you almost in every branch of civil engineering ,so it's important for every civil engineer or other (related to civil engineering or it's branch) to know how to calculate dry materials quantity in concrete it is easy to calculate following example illustrate.

  • Calculate the quantity of required materials for 10 cubic meter concrete ration(1:3:6)
Solution -

Dry material quantity for 1 cubic meter = 1.52 cubic meter
Sum of ratio =  1+3+6 (1:3:6)  = 10

Cement         = 1.52 / 10 =        0.152  cubic meter
Sand             =  0.152 x 3 =       0.456  cubic meter
Aggregate    = 0.152 x 6 =   0.912 cubic meter

Above quantity is for 1 cubic meter

Similarly

Cement         =   0.152 x 10 = 1.52 Cubic meter
Sand              =  0.456 x 10 = 4.56  Cubic meter
Aggregate     =  0.912 x 10 =  9.12 Cubic meter

Cement quantity can be also in bags ,it is not big deal just multiply with 3 the total quantity of cement but this formula can work if the cement bag is 50 kg in weigh although usually bags come with 50 kg however some brand make in 30 kg also.

Cement = 1.52 cubic meter x 30 = 45.6 ~ 46 bags
